This is my academic website. I am an Assistant Professor (Professor Adjunto) at the Institute of Mathematics and Statistics (IME) of the Rio de Janeiro State University (UERJ), where I worked previously as a temporary professor. I have a Ph.D. (D.Sc.) degree from the Systems Engineering and Computer Science Program at COPPE/UFRJ. I was advised by prof. ClŠudia Werner. My main research areas are Software Visualization and Software Reuse, but I work in other areas as well (as described here). In my Ph.D. research, I investigated the use of visualization resources for providing awareness in software reuse tasks, and I have built some integrated tools aiming to reach this goal.

I am also a certified assessor and implementer of the Brazilian Software Process Improvement Reference Model (MR-MPS), mainly focused in the process areas related to software reuse and configuration management. For successful Software Engineering research and practice, I believe that knowledge sharing between academia and industry is a key factor.

This website contains some information related to my research. For additional information, feel free to contact me.

For students: If you are interested in researching visualization support for Software Engineering (or another topic, preferably related to my main research interests), please let me know.

"Perform your works in meekness, and you shall be loved beyond the glory of men. However great you may be, humble yourself in all things, and you will find grace in the presence of God. For only the power of God is great, and he is honored by the humble. The heart of the wise is understood by wisdom, and a good ear will listen to wisdom with all its desire."
(Ecclus 3,19-21;31)
